In the face of late-stage cancer, life's priorities often shift dramatically. Medical appointments and treatments dominate the calendar, while financial burdens grow heavier as both the patient and their carer may have had to give up work. The weight of this reality can be overwhelming, making it difficult to find moments of joy and normality. This is where a Special Treat comes in, offering an oasis of happiness and connection amidst the trials of cancer.
Collaborating for a Cause
At Gifted Smile, we work hard to provide some of these Special Treats. They may include tickets to theme parks, a meal out or even a night away. These come directly from a donation of the treat itself or from financial donations/money raised which is then used to buy them, normally at a reduced rate thanks to our generous supporters. Our success in delivering Special Treats is built upon our partnership with Something to Look Forward To. This is a wonderful charity who works closely with hospitals, hospices and support groups to identify individuals who will benefit most from these experiences. Each family undergoes a thorough application process to ensure that the treats are allocated fairly and to those in genuine need. Gifted Smile has partnered with them to bring some of their joy to the North.

While many Special Treats are generously donated, some are offered to us at a significantly reduced cost - or may involve expenses such as covering the running costs of a holiday home stay.
